4.25 Ascot - Mijhaar (each way 9/2 Stan James)

I must apologise for not being able to blog yesterday, my daughter was not very well and I had to take her to see the doctor in the morning and it being a day when they were on strike it took me an age to get seen. All is well though and my daughter has recovered which is the main thing. I never thought I would see the day when doctors went on strike. My father was a consultant of Accident and Emergency medicine and he would have turned in his grave at the thought of striking and thereby denying patients the care that they have a right to. What a world we live in these days!

I am heading to Goodwood later today to cover the evening meeting from there with Eddie Freemantle. This meeting is part of what is a busy day on Racing UK. We will bring you coverage of all the action from Ayr, Newmarket and Redcar as well as Goodwood, all that plus comprehensive analysis of what is happening at Royal Ascot. it is very much a day when all hands are on deck as far as the Racing UK team are concerned.

My selection today is Mijhaar in the 4.25 at Ascot. He is currently a 9/2 shot which represents decent each way value. He was too keen in the early stages of his comeback run at York this season where the pace was only modest. That run will have got the freshness out of him and he is certain to get a decent pace to run at this time. He has previous at Ascot boasting a decent fourth place at the Royal meeting last year and course form at this track can be very important.
