Afsare victory would point to Crackerjack King

6 July 2012

Today's selections:

2.20 Sandown: Rafaaf

4.00 Sandown: Afsare

With the rain playing havoc across the country watch out for the prospects of upcoming meetings.  Beverley are going to take a precautionary look at 2pm today for later this evening and before that Carlisle look at 1pm for tomorrow evening.  It’s just not fair, and thoughts with those getting drenched.  These are unusual and extreme times, which need continued understanding.

Sandown could probably do with a bit of that rain and at present there is a light sprinkling not far away where I am.  It doesn’t prove a deterrent from the fox cubs who are causing havoc in my garden at present though!  Fingers crossed Haydock escapes the forecast rain as they have a fantastic card on Saturday.

With the Coral-Eclipse in mind connections of Crackerjack King would like to see Afsare go well this afternoon at 4.00pm.  The Italian import defeated Luca Cumani’s runner in a Group One on his latest run.  Other picks at Sandown include Rafaaf at 2.20 and Silken Thoughts at 4.35.

On a story I thought I saw on Monday July 2nd, Farhh’s participation was going to be ground dependent and that what was need was plenty of rain!  Nathaniel will only run if the ground is suitable so it doesn’t bode well for punters for the first two in the betting.  At this stage I’m not looking to either as my winner, more on that tomorrow.

Today’s pointers:

Roger Charlton is in form ahead of his Coral-Eclipse raid with Cityscape, with five winners from his last ten runners

Six of the last eight winners of Haydock’s 8.45 have come from the first two in the betting

Eight of the last ten winners of Beverley’s 7.00 have come from the first two in the betting

Daniel Tudhope has finished in the first three on 14 of his last 17 rides
